Introduction: 

For you bulk fill enthusiasts, this is a perfectly reasonable way to bulk fill with Exquisite so you're using the best composite available instead of one of the compromised so called "bulk fill" materials.

Small DO decay on 3 just thru the DEJ. I wasn't sure how big it would be so I opened the prep up a bit looking for it.

I used a Garrison "bean" matrix with a blue plastic wedge and used the gold Garrison ring to force the wedge against the gingival margin. This photo was taken with Clean and Boost dentin and enamel cleanser left to etch the prep for 25-30 sec.

After the Clean and Boost I rinsed, dried, applied Bond Saver D, thinned that, added 3 coats of Surpass 2, dried that thoroughly, added a thin coat of Surpass 3 plus a layer of Titan A2 Flowable, then co-cured all of that for 3 seconds with the Valo light set on XTRA POWER.

Then just filled the rest with Exquisite Restoration composite in bulk, shaped that as best I could and cured it for 3 seconds from each direction with the Valo light on XTRA POWER . Then pulled the matrix and did some proximal disking with small red Softflex discs. Pulled the dam, checked the occlusion, did a final 3 sec. light cure and we're done.

Conclusion: 

It's really reasonable and efficient to bulk fill these smaller preps under 4mm depth with Exquisite. I do layer larger preps as I've shown before. I would not bulk fill larger preps and do not recommend using the so called "bulk fill" materials currently on the market. Recall reports are starting to come in showing increased wear rates, as expected. Hope this helps.
