Introduction: 

This is a 2015 composite (Surpass/Titan/Exquisite) in excellent condition with a small chip at the MB margin. I'm going to take advantage of the 70% curing ratio of composites and repair this chip with new composite.

I noticed how the original margin isn't sharp any more. The bond we get between enamel and composite is so strong that when the chip broke off it literally tore the enamel with it.

First I sandblasted the area to get it really clean. Then placed a small piece of metal matrix and cleaned the area with an etchant/cleanser (Clean and Boost for 15-20 seconds).

Then washed and dried that, applied 2 coats of bonding resin (Superb Adhesive), dried that and added flowable (Titan) and co-cured the resin and flowable.

Then layered a little bit of Exquisite composite, cured that and polished.

Completed repair.

Conclusion: 

So a simple procedure to repair a chipped/broken composite when there's no need to replace the whole thing. The idea is to get the remaining material clean and then take advantage of the 70% conversion ratio of single bond to double bond molecules and add new composite to old. Hope this helps - Tom
