Following the completion of restorations, this is the manner in which I choose to seal them.

Class I,II: Re-apply Simplicity and apply Permaseal, thin and light-acitvate.

Class V: Re-apply Simplicity as usual and light-activate. No sealer used.

ditto the Cl V protocol

"Class I,II: Re-apply Simplicity and apply Permaseal, thin and light-acitvate. "
Do the instructions call for the bonding agent?
Are you saying Sim 1 & Sim 2?
Are you saying 3 brushfulls +2 more brushfulls of the Sim 2?
I thought it was etch > wash > Permaseal/your comparable material?

Have you done some dye studies & found improved results over etch > wash > Permaseal?

My etch is Sim 1 when I seal a composite.

Thank you

My instructions do.

Yes, but what we do is add a drop of acetone to the well which held the Sim 2. that way we don't burn any more Sim 2.

On dentin? You bet your life.

Thank you

If one is done shapiong the composite and still has the isolite or dam in place (no contamination), does one need to reapply simplicity before placing permaseal or optiguard? I have been using optiguard for years with success- but am always looking to get better.

If I have had contamination, I use blue etch per mfg's instructions, rinse, dry and then place the optiguard, but I worry that with no sim2 on the resin, the only place the optiguard is going to stick is the enamel.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Brad

PS- John- I have a lot of cerec stumps now-- do you still need them?

If any finishing was done, yes. If not, then no.

Apply what's on the brush- that ought to do it.
