Sometimes I would like to place a little titan in a class 2 box form and then some more highly filled composite (filtek for example) squirted on top of it so the titan would flow into any areas where a void could develop.
I think I remember hearing this was a no-no, but I can't remember why.
Please advise.
Thanks,
Brad

If the overall layer isn't more than 2 mm thick it'll cure properly, but I prefer to place the thin flowable layer independently of the more highly filled resin.

I always put the first layer of flowable in and cure 20 seconds. Then, the addition of the two (flowable and "packable") together is what I was concerned about-- do the two shrink differently as to stress the restoartion/tooth?
Thanks

That doesn't matter.

No worries.

Cool

I think I remember hearing Gordon C say that it was not a good idea-- this was back in the late 1990's.
Figures.
Thanks John.
