It depends on how it is measured, and it is difficult to measure. The enamel tends to fracture before one can really get a number. It is really high.
SO - why do some guru's claim that D-E bond is around 23mPa? Other than they can't get higher bond strengths with their stuff! Or did I just answer my own question. _________________ Gerry |

It is a heck of a lot more than 23 mPa. _________________ "You need me on that wall."

That's fairly obvious to anyone who has done any testing whatsoever. So where did this number start from? See DT for various "experts" pushing this number. "I'm happy with anything around 20 as this is the D-E fusion strength. Anything more is window dressing" _________________ Gerry |

I did once - Haven't bothered with DT for several months. This is from a thread (one of many) you were invovled with where you basically stated that the more the better. I'll look this stuff up when I get a break. Lunch is occupied with setting up 20 specimens. _________________ Gerry |

The mean ultimate tensile cohesive strengths of bovine and human DEJ region were 47.7 MPa and 51.5 MPa (Urabe & Nakajima)
I'll keep looking on DT for the 20(+/-) statement. _________________ Gerry |
