Hey colleagues... i am setting my schedule for next year and i was going to take a comprehensive occlusion/esthetics course. I know dwson and Spear are both highly thought of.....I was wondering if you guys here would recommend either based on personal experience/knowledge...or if you had someone else in mind.
Thanks.

brad,
i'm taking the Kois Occlusion I course in march. I think Thom Caspers will be there also. Why don't you jump into that. I'll save you a seat.
I don't think that you can go wrong with either Spear or Dawson. I have heard Frank speak once and was very good. I have many friends that have taken his hotel course and like it. I just wanted a smaller setting and have a bunch of friends in the Kois program. That can't stop raving. Give it a thought. _________________ Rich (cool kid) Rosenblatt

Do see Barry Glassman. It puts the whole occlusion thing in proper perspective. _________________ Take Care...Howard

Rich-
I am out of town on spring break that weekend. I will be drinking by the Gulf (when the kids aren't requesting my attention) while you learn about occlusion----
His price tag is also 3-4X greater than dawson or Spear. Yikes.
I have heard he is great, too.
Thanks for saving the seat. I tell ya, next time I am up in Chicago (my dad lives in Ivanhoe, still have friends in LP), I will stop by your new office and say hello. How's that going BTW? _________________ Bradley A Dorsch, DDS

things are going well. I know that the cost is steep, but I wanted the small group setting. I have a bear of a time just grasping all the fine details of occlusion, CR blah blah and was concerned that if I went to a course with a few hundred docs, I'd just sort of tune out. This way, if I tune out, I'm hoping Kois will just walk up to me and smack me in the head!
You should definitely stop by my city office if you ever come into town. I'm there a lot less since I bought my office but there every thurs and alternating fridays and saturdays. Just give me a heads up when you are out this way. _________________ Rich (cool kid) Rosenblatt

Brad-
His website is mostly about his courses. I recommend his Tooth Wear to Migraine Course. He is giving it Jan 17,18 with JIM BOYD in San Diego and again by himself in Chicago in June. It really puts in perspective all the different conflicting occlusion philosophies.

Glassman's great for treating pain patients. For restorative principles, you can't beat Spear / Kois / Pankey. _________________ No, Donny, these men are nihilists, there's nothing to be afraid of.... |

Don't know much about Dawson, though I've heard he's excellent too. _________________ No, Donny, these men are nihilists, there's nothing to be afraid of.... |

He also puts into proper perspective all of the "competeing" theories of occlusion. _________________ Take Care...Howard
