Jasonsmithson (from DT) has been using immediate dentin sealing for everything. Even prior to shrinkwrap. I think the fear of totally bonding the bis-acryl onto the teeth if you use sur1,2, and 3 prior is pretty obvious. I have not had any problem at all with doing SWT and only using sur2,3 or sim2. However, I am drawn to fully sealing the dentin immediately after prepping.

Before Shrinkwrapping he coats the teeth with KY jelly and he reports no problem with the technique or removal of the temps. Does this sound like a great idea or really not much different than what you are doing now? It seems that everything is shifting toward IDS if we want a strong dentin bond. Should this be the next wave in my bonding arsenal or not?

I do not do the whole boat in anterior cases that are not full coverage. Because of their nature, I find that I am going to anesthetize for delivery and then I get to clean everything up and seal from scratch.

I think it can get real dicey to shrink wrap to truly sealed teeth.

I like the technique we now use. Cool

maybe it's because I haven't really done it for more than 1 case but I really don't care for the shrink wrap technique at all.....

That's OK too, but I find that it makes for a reliable and esthetic method of retaining veneer temps.

i just use some consepsis air dry then shrink wrap. when bonding in veneers I am still using simplicity 1/2 and interface/simp2 on all porc. I just cant come around to using surpass on indirscts due to the thickness....
