I ended up just cramming IRM over cotton on my molar RCT start this morning, b/c I didn't want to mess around with getting Simplicity over the canals. I was wondering about sealing the dentin with Simplicity, and then placing the IRM. Would the eugenol affect the bond strengths after I remove the IRM next visit? I figured I be removing some of the sealed layer anyway when I took out the IRM, so decided to placed IRM and then lightly re-cut the dentin next time for the IDB step. Just curious about the eugenol after the IDB step and any ill-affect it might have on bonding ( if in a perfect world you could remove the IRM without damaging the bonded layer).

Eugenol does degrade resin. Simplicity will survive it, but it is a little impaired with two week exposure to eugenol.

thanks JK, glad I didn't attempt to IDB first in this case. That's what I thought, but wasn't sure if it would affect bond strength if the dentin layer was already sealed, vs placing IRM over unsealed dentin.
