Hi John

I know you don't like to use glass ionomer as a base but for those that still do could you please answer the following question?

On a deep ,let's say, MO-C (or amalgam) I will place Fuji IX on the deepest part of the box(after treatment with the conditioner which I believe is weak polyacrylic acid).

My question is can I substitute Simplicity instead of the conditioner before placement of Fuji IX?

Thanks,

Paul

Whatever you choose is fine, Paul, but it isn't necessary. It's not bad dentistry, but just not necessary. Cool

I'm pretty sure JK means just the Sim 1, not both? Pls correct me if I'm wrong. Perhaps you knew this too, sorry.

To also put Sim 2 would not allow the Fugi to bond to the tooth as it is designed.

FWIW, ditch the Fugi IX like I did. W composites, your Sim is superior, w amalgams, it is also superior IMO. I put Sim under amalgams.

What I meant is that he could skip the Fuji IVX altogether. Wink

Greetings!

I find myself occasionally using Fuji IX for pedo restorations as well as the occasional geriatric situation. Instructions from GC tell you to use FujiCoat LC to seal. Since we all know that Sim 2 is the best sealer out there, I haven't bothered with FujiCoat LC and use Sim 2.

Am I going to hell for this?

Alan
