I'm taking Karl's course right now.

Some of it is quite informative for me - explaination of hybridization and such.

However, a couple things seem to fly in the face of Kanca-ology.
Karl recommends pre-etching when using a 6th or 7th generation.
Or he suggests using the etch ingredient (ie. sim 1) for twice the normal time and doing it in a scrubbing motion.

more in a few....

"the tooth deforms upon occluding"

I didn't realize that actually happened - since there is a PDL....

Someone could ask him what direct research he's done with Simplicity and when and where it was done.

Wink

Gerry and I have submitted an article which suggest that there isn't much loss of anything over at least 10 months with most of the systems we looked at.

Simplicity got stronger.

Were there any references for that assertion?

Teeth do indeed flex a bit under occlusion.

If I recall correctly a few years ago, he put out a wtitten article on DT discussing all the generations of bonding agents and all that is said in the previous discussion was noted....BUT he said simplicity is different (better) that all the other 6th generations. After months of speculation, this article finally got me to make the switch.

Of course there were no references. Karl has been generally kind so I choose my words cautiously.

Someone paid for this course. Karl is entitled to make a buck and put in a good light the products of those who sponsor the course.

Generalizations are expected and I guess they have made in his course. Generalizations are called what they are for a reason and usually have exceptions. Simplicity is one such exception.

Whose products fared the best? I would guess it would be Pentron's but I do not know for a fact yet.
