As you've taught, I cure Titan simultaneously with Surpass 3 and I cure it with the Valo for 15-20 secs. I'm often using WO Titan. As directed (you always say follow the directions so I'm telling you I do) I pulse-cure my composites (Helio or Filtek), initially for 2-5 secs only for each increment (depends on how awake I am at the time; Im old you know) then add more time a few secs at a time as I add increments, finishing with 10 secs from each side. So I'm wondering what is it about Titan, and all flowables I assume, that allows us to blast it with light without damaging results???? Thanks - Tom |

Being a really thin layer.
Like your results so far? _________________ "You need me on that wall."

Yes John. The resuts are great! So if the layers are thin they can't damage the enamel if they shrink too fast???? |

Is it better to cure the Sur 3 and then place Titan or cure the Sur 3 and the Titan together? |

Right. It lowers the tensile stress _________________ "You need me on that wall."

Thanks John
I was curing them together and then I thought I read in a post somewhere to cure the Sur 3 and then add the flowable, which is the way the video instructions describe the process.
Does it make for stronger adhesion bonding them together? |

It makes for a resin-adhesive structure at the pulpal floor and makes for a radiographic sunny day. _________________ "You need me on that wall."

I got it that it makes for a radiographic sunny day curing them both together, since there is the possibility of a radiolucent area under the composite if you cure the Sur 3 separately and don't really thin it out before curing.
But today, I was placing a Cl 3 comp on a max central to close a space left after ortho. I was more concerned in this case about getting maximum retention than a radiolucency on the X-Ray.
So, for maximum bond strength does it make any difference if the Sur 3 and flowable are cured together or separately?
At the Ultradent Summit, their products were always cured separately. |

The technique is indicated for Class I's and II's.
This isn't Ultradent. It's Apex! _________________ "You need me on that wall."
