Abdalla, Amer J Dent 2010; 23:1: 29-33.

3 years wate storage significantly reduced the bond strengths of one bottle adhesives (S3, Hybrid BOnd, Futurabond NR, Adhese). Rinse etch (Admira bond) bond strength remained stable.

I like this study more than more than most MBTS studies because the teeth were sectioned only when the testing was done, and not before.

It remains my opinion that one bottle adhesives are a clinical compromise.

FWIW, My own personal experience reflects those results.

Over the years, I've used ScotchBond multipurpose, Optibond Solo, Futurabond, AdheSE, and now Surpass.

My ugliest recalls are those with FB and AdheSE. Ive already replaced a few that were 2 yrs old.
Always made me wonder if it was technique sensitivity (i sucked at using those materials) or actual performance. I guess now i know! Smile
