I was wondering if someone could explain to me when it is better to use an HT porcelain over LT porcelain. There has been a huge buzz over emax HT blocks for cerec, but is HT always indicated?

May seem like a simple question but I really don't know!

Well for one, if you want to block out the color of the prep, you would want LT.

makes sense. Does translucency affect value? Assuming the stump shade needs not be blocked out?

Right. The LT can look a lot like tooth if done right, but won't match any existing crowns.
