Just wanted some input here guys....

When I am restoring a tooth with a cerec, I am sealing after the powdering with simplicity- making sure to really thin the heck out of the sim2. (I have a bitch of a time getting the powder off if I seal the prep prior to imaging).
When I am ready to seat the cerec, I am
1. re-isolating (isolite) and then rinsing very well
2. placing interface and sim2-- curing again and then
3. a layer of uncured, thinned sim 2 and then the cerec.

Is the second dose on interface hurting anything? I thought it would "double check" my etching and clean up the tooth before seating.....

thanks in advance.

I want some titan! When it is it available? How about for pedo teeth-- could you restore entirely with titan?

Sorry about the run-on thread.

Brad

brad, what do you mean by " is the second dose on interface hurting anything?" not sure I understand what you mean by that. Do you mean that you powder, then rinse right away and then put on the interface and sim2 the take out the isolite? Then you mill it, polish it or glaze it, and then you put the isolite back in and reapply the interface and sim 2? If this is the case, you do not need to put interface on again. just rinse well with water and dry, put a coat of sim 2 and dry it but don't cure. Then put in the anchor and cement it.

I am using simplicity to seal after my opticals.
I have a bunch of interface left over from my ceramic priming, so I have been using it on the tooth as well. i wanted to make sure it wasn't doing anything detrimental.

I know that you should be using the interface relatively soon after you mix it. If you are sealing right after opticals, then desiging and millling and then reapplying the interface, I'd say probably not to due this. I'm not sure what the time span of freshness is of interface, but I know that once it goes cloudy, you should not use it. i'd just skip the second interfacing if I were you. I'll wait and see what JK says because at the end of the day, I'm sort of an idiot and I just parrot whatever he says anyway!!

Rich- it is really fresh. I am mixing it just prior to seating-- so while it is on the cerec and sitting for 10 seconds, I am placing it on the prep.

Are you using the interface to clean the prep? I thought you only needed interface on the inside of the porcelain. And if the prep was sealed and cured what do you do by putting interface on it? Just clean with alcohol and place sim2 uncured and seat..

The flow is being set to launch at the Midwinter.

As soon as we have material ready to ship, we'll let you know. We should have everything except the boxes (and maybe flow thru tips) within two weeks.

Not that this makes it right but in response to the following question from the initial post in this thread....."I want some titan! When it is it available? How about for pedo teeth-- could you restore entirely with titan?"

I felt compelled to answer.....
