What are your thoughts about Activa? Do you feel that you may venture into this class of restorative in the future?

Activa is resin modified glass ionomer with more resin than in the normal RMGI. I am not certain what role it fills as yet. It is not as wear resistant as filled resins. Nothing that dispenses and mixes easily out of a twin barrel syringe can be.

It seems interesting for a few reasons, stronger tensile strength and release of desirables. Pedo operative, cervical lesions and small restoration under crown preps are the areas of consideration. I was just wondering if you are going to venture into this type of restorative and possibly making it better.

I am not entirely convinced that this represents a significant difference from what exists now. Our venturing into this is always a possibility but we have a couple of things in the pipeline that you are going to find very interesting.
