I have a few questions that I hope somebody can educate me on.
1. I noticed on one of the threads, someone noted that Ultrablend is OK for pulp capping, but then I was advised that Lime Lite (urethane dimethacrylate resin) is not. Why is that?

2. Has anyone used Ultratemp (polycarboxylate luting/filling material) by Ultradent for direct pulp cap instead of Duralon? Is it an acceptable substitute for Duralon mainly for ease of mixing.

Thanks for the info

Ultrablend has specifically been tested for use as a pulp cap. Lime Lite has not and is not recommended as a pulp cap by its manufacturer.

Here- click on the link to "articles and studies"

http://www.pulpdent.com/bonding/lime.html

"Lime-Lite releases favorable Calcium ions, Hydroxyl ions, Fluoride ions and Phosphate ions. These are known to be beneficial to tooth structure," Notice that it has not been shown that Lime Lite itself has been shown to do anything. It's use is as a liner but things like this do not stick well to dentin.

Not a substitute. It has softening agents in it.

John, I have somehow missed Ultablend. Do you like this as a substitute for Durelon? Does it do as well as you would expect it to?

Thanks

I'm sure it's not bad, but I stick with Durelon.
